Obliteration

Obliteration

Obliteration are one of Norway’s most respected death metal acts, forging their brutal sound since 2004 in Kolbotn and rising to prominence through relentless riffing and commanding live performances.

Early in their career they played high‑profile events including Inferno Metal Festival and Hole in the Sky, laying the groundwork for an extensive touring history across Scandinavia and Europe that includes appearances at Tons of Rock, Obscene Extreme, Kill‑Town Death Fest, Beyond the Gates and Maryland Death Fest, earning them a reputation as a powerful live force within extreme metal.
Obliteration’s influence in the death metal scene is reflected not only in their live performance legacy but also in critical acclaim for their releases. Their 2009 album Nekropsalms was named Album of the Year by Norwegian magazine Natt og Dag and won the Osloprisen for Best Album, while subsequent records like Black Death Horizon and Cenotaph Obscure have continued to garner praise from press and fans alike for their authentic, old‑school death metal approach.
